Miss Teen Bahamas world pageant Exploitation of children

Right here right now while The Bahamas is meant to be agog with Miss Universe there is the Miss Teen Bahamas competition running. the competitors range from age 15 to 18. The theme is "Twilight ' based on the teen vampire novels. Well that is the organisers rationale for something that left me speechless. Check out these pictures. to my mind this is exploitation at best and sexual abuse of these girls at worst. The link below takes you to the pageant website index page. And I must add that Miss Teen Bahamas 2009 came to the Crisis Centre Press Conference held at the eastern Cemetery on the 29th September. She spoke out very eloquently and passionately against child abuse at this event which commemorated the Regional Day to eradicate sexual violence. She was accompanied by the pageant director. Kudos to this young lady and thanks to the pageant management for revising the website and supporting our cause
